Miyoshi Kondo was Toronto born in 1981. She is an artist with a penchant for gouache. She came to love this vibrant and fickle paint while acquiring a BFA from NSCAD University. Her paintings are all done by hand with a brush. Common themes explored in her work are how we function within, and relate to, our natural and constructed environments and our concepts of home. She loves the whole process of painting from first imaginings to the physical application of paint; in sharing ideas that can provoke a wide range of reactions. She resides in Wolfville, Nova Scotia where she paints and raises children, chickens and vegetables. Some are put in jars, some in coops and some in beds. It varies. Currently, her paintings can be found at Argyle Fine Art Gallery (Halifax, NS), Teichert Gallery (Halifax, NS), The Rolled Oat Cafe (Wolfville, NS) and greeting cards at The Box of Delights (Wolfville, NS).
