Playing with Clay with Marla Benton

Come and explore the playful qualities of clay!  You will learn a variety of techniques and explore the clay with textures and tools.  Each participant will be able to create their own hand-built masterpiece! With the lengthy process that clay goes through to become a finished piece, participants will complete their pieces during the workshop and they will be able to pick up their pieces just over a week later after it has been dried and fired in a kiln. No experience necessary.  $100 includes all materials and a light snack. Limit 12 participants.

 

August 27, 1 to 5 pm

Cellphone Photography with Ernest Cadegan

Explore the town of Wolfville through the unique lens of your cellphone. This workshop will focus on close observation and composition. Participants will be instructed in visual exercises on “seeing” more closely, cellphone camera usage, and image processing. Individuals will need a reasonably current cellphone and with the app Snapseed installed, Android and iPhone platforms both work. Each photographer will receive an 8x8 inch archival print from the days exploration. No experience necessary, $100 includes all materials and a light snack. Limit 12 participants.

 

September 24, 1 to 5 pm

Miniature Masterpiece with Alan Bateman

Each participant will create their own miniature masterpiece in acrylics. Alan will take you through some basic drawing and composition skills to help you layout the start of your little painting. Once you are ready he will assist you in creating a finished piece of artwork. You get more than one try if needed. No rules, no experience needed. Everything you need will be provided. $100 includes all art supplies and light snack.

 

October 1, 1 to 5 pm

Hand Painting Silk with Holly Carr
